Timestamp: Validate a digital information
What is timestamp, where to find, how and why use?
When we send an electronic document, how we can certify the time when this was posted? How to make use of this document as an evidence that digital information existed on a certain date and time in the past?
Timestamp, what is it and why is it important?
Certify the exact hour and minute that the document was sent by mail, received and opened by the recipient.
The timestamp, is an electronic document issued by certification authority-ACT, which serves as evidence that a digital information existed on a certain date and time in the past.
The timestamp applied to a document/email proof that they existed at that date and time. This is essential since the electronic clocks of computers, which usually provide the date and time to the digital document, can be easily changed, invalidating the process.
In this way, any electronic events (e-mails, log files, etc.) that have been “stamped” with the time stamp, have irrefutable recognition of your existence and content. With legal value to electronic documents, exempting so your user of the “burden of proof” in legal disputes.
The timestamp works as a protocol of electronic transactions, preventing the document content to be tampered with. This is done by creating a “fingerprint” of the document.
